Kitchen Remodeling
Location coming soon
For this complete kitchen remodel, our clients prioritized space efficiency and family functionality. To do this, we anchored the bright, transitional design with custom floor-to-ceiling white cabinetry, maximizing vertical storage and ensuring a dedicated place for every pantry item and small appliance. To further optimize the home's footprint, we built in a stacked washer and dryer unit right into the kitchen layout. Neatly concealed behind a standard closet door to hide it away. This allows the homeowners to easily multitask household chores without sacrificing square footage. At the heart of the room is a striking, deep-blue custom island topped with beautifully veined quartz. Designed with a busy family in mind, it features a centralized gas cooktop and built-in seating, creating a natural hub for meal prep, homework, and gathering. Complete with double wall ovens, a large stainless steel refrigerator, and a dedicated beverage station with an under-counter fridge, this project balanced high-capacity family living with crisp, modern design.

Kitchen Remodel: This kitchen remodel centers on a timeless design, pairing full-height white shaker-style perimeter cabinets with an expansive, dark-finished center island. Polished dark stone tops the island, while white quartz and a classic white subway tile backsplash line the walls above warm hardwood flooring. The space is outfitted with professional-grade appliances, including a large gas range beneath a custom hood, a built-in double wall oven, and a paneled refrigerator. Natural light from an arched window over the undermount double sink is supplemented by twin crystal chandeliers. Adjacent to the main prep area, a dedicated beverage center is defined by contrasting matte black cabinetry, glass-front display uppers, a dual-zone cooler, and additional white quartz counter space. Mid-Century Modern Basement Remodel
Downers Grove, Lansfield
This remodeling project centered on transforming a lower level into a highly customized, multi-functional space designed for entertaining, relaxing, and hobbies. To achieve this, every design choice was driven by the clients' specific lifestyle, ensuring that every square foot served a practical purpose for their unique routines. Polished concrete floors run throughout the level to unify the distinct functional zones while complementing the mid-century modern aesthetic. Custom Walk-In Wine Cellar: The focal point of this basement is a custom walk-in wine storage cellar. Enclosed by floor-to-ceiling glass and sleek black framing, the climate-controlled space features extensive natural wood racking. An illuminated, arched cedar display niche highlights select bottles, while lower flat-panel cabinets provide integrated storage for closed cases. Dedicated Record Station: Adjacent to the wine cellar, a dedicated vinyl listening station was integrated into the open floor plan to cater to the clients' love for analog sound. Custom-built walnut furniture provides specialized storage and open-face display bins specifically dimensioned for their record collection. The space is anchored by a mid-century modern dining set and a brass sputnik-style chandelier. Custom Wet Bar: The expansive bar area utilizes flat-panel walnut cabinetry to bring warmth to the industrial concrete flooring. The wood is contrasted by a dark, textured square-tile backsplash and heavily veined dark stone countertops. The bar is fully equipped for entertaining, featuring a large under-mount sink, integrated dishwasher, and a high-capacity stainless steel refrigerator. Suspended Fireplace Lounge: The lounge area features a unique, ceiling-suspended black pod fireplace. This distinctive, retro-inspired element serves as the primary architectural draw of the seating area, accompanied by a glass-topped coffee table with a sculptural wood base and velvet swivel chairs. Custom Arts and Crafts Room: By prioritizing the clients' personal passions, a separate room was entirely dedicated to hobbies and organization. Wall-to-wall white shaker cabinetry provides extensive concealed storage, filing drawers, and a built-in desk area. A key feature of this room is a specialized wrapping station, a custom cabinet fitted with adjustable wooden dowels designed specifically to organize and dispense rolls of wrapping paper and spools of ribbon.

Basement Lounge, Gym, & Bar
Downers Grove
When most people think of a basement, they picture a dark, underutilized storage space. For this recent project, we completely flipped that script. We set out to design a multi-functional lower level that feels less like a basement and more like an exclusive, private retreat. By blending moody industrial elements—like exposed painted ceilings and polished concrete floors—with the warmth of reclaimed wood and exposed brick, we created a space that is built for entertaining, relaxing, and everything in between. The Custom Speakeasy Bar: The centerpiece of the entertainment space is a fully custom, speakeasy-inspired bar. We paired deep, matte-black cabinetry with a striking natural stone countertop and a bold, vertically stacked red tile backsplash. The floating rustic wood shelving provides the perfect stage for an impressive bourbon collection, while custom under-cabinet lighting and recessed display pillars give the entire area a warm, inviting glow. A Layout Built for Entertainment: The pool table area is anchored by a stunning crystal chandelier that provides a brilliant contrast to the exposed industrial pipes and brick walls. For winding down, we created a cozy family lounging area featuring a dramatic, dark-painted brick fireplace with a chunky reclaimed wood mantel. We also utilized a classic brick accent wall to create a dedicated gallery space for the client's vibrant concert poster collection. Elite Home Gym: We transitioned the flooring from polished concrete to durable rubber gym mats to designate the workout area, featuring a heavy-duty power rack, cardio equipment, and a custom reclaimed-wood accent wall that keeps the design aesthetic consistent. Clever Under-Stair Storage: We turned the traditionally dead space under the stairs into a functional design feature with custom black cabinetry, drawers, and display shelves that perfectly match the basement's dark woodwork and industrial doors. The Rustic-Chic Bathroom: The bathroom carries the rustic-industrial theme flawlessly with a floating vanity made from salvaged wood, a carved stone vessel sink, a custom copper-pipe light fixture, and a walk-in shower featuring floor-to-ceiling pebble stone tile.

The design centers around custom, soft-toned inset cabinetry paired with brushed brass hardware. A striking, heavily veined natural stone was utilized for both the countertops and the full-height perimeter backsplash, creating a seamless and cohesive focal point. Center Island: A large, multi-functional island offers generous prep space with a thick stone countertop profile, an integrated prep sink with a brass gooseneck fixture, and under-counter seating for four. Beverage Center: A dedicated built-in station includes an under-counter wine and beverage cooler, flanked by floor-to-ceiling pantry storage and topped with illuminated, glass-front display cabinets. Location coming soon
This Chicagoland kitchen was transformed from a dated, compartmentalized space into a warm, thoughtfully designed room that works as hard as it looks good. The result is a transitional kitchen that balances traditional craftsmanship with clean, contemporary sensibility, anchored by a generous island with a white quartz countertop, black leather barstools, and a pendant light that draws the eye upward into the open ceiling. The full layout now flows easily from the prep zone to the cooking wall to a dedicated coffee bar tucked near the entry. A purposeful design that makes daily life feel more organized and more enjoyable. Every finish was selected to complement and reinforce the overall character of the space. The custom cabinetry runs throughout in a warm greige tone with shaker-style doors and matte black hardware; a pairing that feels grounded without being heavy. The cooking wall features a custom range flanked by full-height cabinetry that serves as the natural focus point. Whole-Home Remodel in Chicagoland: A Family-First Transformation
Location coming soon
This Chicagoland home was reimagined from the ground up to support how a busy family actually lives. The homeowners came to the project with a clear vision: they wanted a connected main floor where cooking, homework, movie nights, and morning routines could all unfold without anyone feeling stuck in their own corner of the house. The result is a series of spaces that flow naturally into one another, anchored by a generous kitchen island, a layered living room with custom built-ins, a refreshed powder bath, and a striking millwork moment along the staircase that ties the whole home together. The kitchen sets the tone. White shaker cabinetry runs floor to ceiling, framed by matte black hardware, a herringbone tile backsplash, and quartz countertops that wrap an oversized island with seating for the whole family. Three black lantern pendants give the room presence, while a double wall oven and gas cooktop keep it serious about cooking. The adjacent living room balances that brightness with warmer tones, a shiplap fireplace surround flanked by custom built-in cabinetry and shelving, all sitting on rich hardwood floors. In the powder bath, board-and-batten wainscoting meets a patterned feature wall, giving a small space real personality. And along the staircase, a floor-to-ceiling chevron paneled accent wall pairs with a stained wood handrail and wrought iron balusters.

Transitional White Kitchen Remodel in Chicagoland
Location coming soon
This Chicagoland kitchen was reimagined as a bright, transitional space built around timeless white cabinetry and a single dramatic focal point. The layout opens up an L-shaped working zone with a generous island, anchored by a pro-style stainless gas range and tied together by deep, veined stone countertops that catch the light from the surrounding windows. Every sightline was considered, from the corner pantry tucked beside the refrigerator to the run of perimeter cabinetry that carries the eye toward the hood. The defining feature is the custom black range hood, fabricated to suit the proportions of the room. Surrounding it, full-height white shaker cabinets stretch to the ceiling, eliminating the dust-collecting bulkhead and adding meaningful storage without crowding the space. The team at Bayern Builders paired the cabinetry with matte black hardware, a soft white subway tile backsplash, and warm wood plank flooring to balance the contrast. Transitional Kitchen Remodel in Chicagoland
Location coming soon
The original kitchen space lacked both function and cohesion, and the homeowners wanted something that would feel generous and connected without losing the character of their home. The result is a kitchen that opens into the living space through an island with casual bar seating, anchored by rich stained cabinetry, clean white quartz surfaces, and natural hardwood underfoot. Every angle of the room was considered, from the corner cabinet configuration that makes the most of every inch to the pendant lighting that draws the eye upward toward the vaulted ceiling and exposed beams. The cabinetry is full-overlay shaker in a warm medium stain, a finish that reads as current without chasing trends, paired throughout with matte black bar pulls that add quiet contrast without competing with the wood. Quartz countertops run continuously across the perimeter and the island, keeping the palette cohesive and the surfaces easy to maintain. Above the custom range, a painted arched hood becomes the room's focal point, a custom millwork element that ties the professional-grade stainless appliances back to the cabinetry with a distinctly handcrafted touch.

Budget Friendly Kitchen Painting in Chicagoland
Location coming soon
Not every kitchen transformation requires tearing down walls or starting over from scratch. This Chicagoland home is a testament to what thoughtful material choices and skilled craftsmanship can accomplish within a focused scope. The homeowners wanted a kitchen that felt genuinely modern, not just tidied up, without the disruption and expense of a full gut renovation. What emerged is a bright, cohesive space that reads as intentionally designed from the first glance: crisp white cabinetry, a statement two-tone island in a muted sage, warm hardwood floors, and light flooding in from a large picture window over the sink. The team at Bayern Builders prioritized the details that carry the most visual weight. Cabinetry was painted to a smooth, even white finish with arched raised-panel doors that nod to classic Chicagoland architecture while staying well within a contemporary palette. Brushed brass hardware threads warmth through the space without overwhelming it. The quartz countertops, anchor both the perimeter and the large island, which doubles as a gas cooktop station and a casual dining spot for the family. A sage green glass tile backsplash adds depth and a quiet sophistication that ties the island color back into the wall plane. Floating walnut open shelves near the dining room entry soften the transition between spaces and give the kitchen a lived-in, curated quality. The result is a kitchen that feels like a complete reinvention without the massive budget of a complete tear out refresh.

Transitional White Kitchen Remodel in Chicagoland
Location coming soon
This Chicagoland kitchen remodel set out to transform a standard suburban kitchen into a space with a clear point of view - one where crisp white cabinetry, considered hardware choices, and a bold island color come together in a design that feels both timeless and distinctly current. The result is a transitional kitchen that balances clean lines with warmth, anchored by full-height white shaker cabinets that run floor to ceiling and a navy blue island that gives the room its personality. Hardwood floors, recessed lighting, and generous natural light from surrounding windows complete a space designed to feel as good to live in as it looks. Every material choice in this kitchen was made with longevity in mind. The calacatta-style quartz countertops — with their soft veining and bright white ground — carry through the perimeter and island, tying the two-tone design together with continuity. Matte black hardware appears consistently across every cabinet and drawer, from the base cabinets to the upper shaker doors, lending the kitchen a quiet sophistication that doesn't demand attention. The appliance suite adds a professional note: a built-in coffee system and double wall oven are stacked into a dedicated tower, making the most of the vertical run of cabinetry. The team at Bayern Builders approached this project with the same attention to fit and finish that defines their best work, and in a kitchen used this much, those details are what homeowners feel every single day.

Transitional Kitchen & Bathroom Remodel in Chicagoland
Woodridge
This Chicagoland home received a complete transformation in its two most important rooms, a kitchen that now functions as a true gathering space and a master bathroom designed around daily use. The kitchen carries a transitional aesthetic that balances warmth and restraint: sage-toned shaker cabinetry wraps a U-shaped layout, while rich hardwood floors and a walnut-finished butler's pantry add depth and contrast. A large quartz island anchors the room beneath clustered milk-glass pendants, giving the space a quality that feels both designed and lived-in. The adjoining master bath takes a quieter approach, a clean-lined freestanding soaking tub set within a tiled niche, framed by a wood-shuttered window that brings in natural light without sacrificing privacy.
